FedEx US Logistics Policy (Latest Version 2026)
I. Adjustment of Basic Rates
Effective date: January 5, 2026
FedEx will raise its standard rates for parcels and freight within the United States, for imports and exports, and for offshore services by an average of 5.9%, with minimum shipping rates increasing accordingly. This price adjustment applies to FXF PZONE, FXF EZONE, offshore services (including the FXF 300, FXF 303, FXF 352, and FXF 370 series), FXFC 1100 (within Canada) rates, and commodity rates (including pallet, volumetric, or full truckload).
II. Adjustment of Surcharges
1. Changes to the billing rules for residential delivery surcharges
Effective date: January 5, 2026
The surcharges for FedEx Date Certain Home Delivery, FedEx Evening Home Delivery, and FedEx Appointment Home Delivery will be changed from being charged per shipment to per package. This change means that sellers shipping multiple packages will face significantly increased costs.
2. Additional processing fee
Effective date: January 12, 2026
An additional handling fee will be charged for packages exceeding 10,368 cubic inches (approximately 0.17 m³).
3. Oversized item surcharge
Effective date: January 12, 2026
An oversized surcharge applies to packages with a volume exceeding 17,280 cubic inches (approximately 0.283 m³) or a weight exceeding 110 pounds.
III. Fuel Surcharge
Effective December 1, 2025, FedEx has increased fuel surcharges for its domestic parcel delivery, express freight, and home delivery services by approximately 1.5%. The fuel surcharge is dynamically adjusted based on spot prices for jet fuel in the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) and the national average price for highway diesel, with rates adjusted weekly according to price fluctuations.
From December 1, 2025 to January 4, 2026, the fuel surcharge will be 30.75% (equivalent to a USGC fuel price of $2.154 per gallon).
IV. Surcharge for remote areas
FedEx categorizes remote areas into three tiers, with the specific fee schedule as follows:
Category A Remote: $23 per ticket + fuel surcharge
Category B Remote: $3.50 per kilogram or a minimum of $168 per shipment (whichever is higher) + fuel surcharge
Category C Remote: $4.60 per kilogram or a minimum of $218 per shipment (whichever is higher) + fuel surcharge
In Alaska, Hawaii, and remote rural areas of the continental United States, additional fees are typically charged at the B or C level.
